Addiction Counselling
Addiction Counselling
This is a specialised form of therapy that helps people identify the causes of their addictive behaviours, develop healthier coping mechanisms and prevent relapse.
There are two types of addiction, physical and psychological.
The goal of addiction counselling is to foster a commitment to recovery and healthier way of life.
During counselling, we explore underlying issues, identifies triggers, provide psychoeducation i.e. Clients are taught new ways to cope with triggers and stress instead of resorting to the addictive behaviour.
